Greenville is Looking Up
The former location of BB&T bank is being artfully reimagined into Canvas Towers. The iconic building’s monolithic modern architecture will become a canvas for an eight-story-tall mural by internationally acclaimed artist Guido Van Helten.
Guido Van Helten is a large-scale, photorealistic mural artist from Australia, who began painting as a graffiti artist in his youth. An abandoned factory, a wheat silo, and a nuclear reactor in Chernobyl are just some of the places Van Helten has transformed with his art.
Greenville residents will see Van Helten’s mural unfold day-by-day beginning in July, 2020. While an enormous amount of planning is required for a work of art on this scale, the painting will be completed in only a few weeks. One of the most intriguing and exciting aspects of Van Helten’s work is that much like graffiti, the subject of the painting is known only to the artist prior to the installation, and is revealed to the world day-by-day as he works.
Situated three blocks west of Main Street and adjacent to both historic Hampton-Pinckney and the Heritage Green cultural district, your new home is within walking distance of everything the fifth fastest-growing city in America has to offer—from Main Street nightlife and greenspace retreats to the thriving Greenville arts and culture scene.
